Eating the fruits of our labours

Restaurant ready to openWell here we are on the last of 5 nights at Woodside Beach Caravan Park. This has been a most enjoyable camp. The park is somewhat rustic in nature with powered sites and plenty of camping spots. There is no water connection or sullage but the amenities are very good and there is bore water and tank water available.

A walk of about 150m and you are on 90 mile beach, which as you would expect goes on “forever” to the north and south.90 mile bch2

The options here are threefold: swim, fish or do nothing. The do nothing option includes watchingthe local birdlife of magpies, blue wrens, black cockatoos etc, and being entertained by the morningand evening antics of numerous wild rabbits.Sandcrab

Our fishing expeditions have resulted in a meal of fresh sandcrab and this evening will be a feed of nice flathead caught this morning.

The weather has been fine for our stay here and we are taking on a definite bronzed hue. Our one venture away from this restful oasis was a 25 min drive to Yarram for a small shopping exercise.

Thanks Steve for helping make our stay here a memorable one and certainly one to recommend to our friends and fellow travelers.
